richard was great showing our group the history and architecture of grand central terminal. he was a wealth of information and very knowledgeable. i would definitely recommend the tour but even more so recommend richard.
During our recent vacation, my husband and I had the pleasure of Justin's company during a private tour and had an incredible time. Discovering Untapped New York is the only tour company to offer a New Amsterdam guided tour around Southern Manhattan. I corresponded with Justin to set up a private walking tour for their "Remnants of New Amsterdam" as a belated birthday gift for my husband, and Justin was professional in all his communications, accommodating for our schedule, and made the reservation process easy. Despite a hiccup on the morning of our tour, Justin personally met us at the starring point and was our guide for the morning. Since he researched and created the tour, it really elevated the experience for us and the depth of his knowledge, his passion for the subject, and plethora of visual aids brought colonial-era New Amsterdam to life within the modern day urban sprawl that is now Southern Manhattan. Although we knew some of the history already, Justin enhanced our understanding and provided new details that broadened our view of the fledgling city of commerce. I cannot recommend Untapped New York and Justin's exemplary service enough, and highly encourage locals and tourists alike to participate in the multitude of tours they offer. Whenever our next vacation to the Big Apple is, I will certainly reserve a other tour with them.
The walking tour was fantastic. Richard was kind and knowledgeable. I learned so much and he further expanded my interest in the Gilded Age Era.
I took their Brooklyn bridge and dumbo tour (on a 90* day no less) and had a great time! My guide, Louis, was super knowledgeable and also made sure to keep us out of the sun whenever possible. Untapped tours are some of my faves in the city and this one lived up to expectations for sure!
Richard was a fantastic tour guide and we learned so many fascinating details about Grand Central! My only feedback is that there should be a way to give guides tips electronically. We didn’t think to get cash beforehand unfortunately.
